Acceptable Use Policy
If you use Our Services, then you are subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement. You are hereby granted a limited right to access and use the Services, in the United States and its territories, or in another country where we may offer it, subject to the terms herein.
UPDATES TO THE SERVICE
We may, without prior notice, amend, modify, or stop providing the Services, to you or to Patrons generally; or create usage limits for the Services, at any time in our sole discretion. The Services are provided “as is,” and you acknowledge and agree that you will not rely on any existing features of the Services being available in the future, nor any proposed updates becoming available.
MINORS
You may use the Services only if you can form a binding contract, and only in compliance with this Agreement and all applicable local, state, national, and international laws, rules, and regulations. You must be at least 16 years old or the applicable age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is older, to use or access the Services. If you are under 16 years old, you may not use or access the Services. Any use or access to the Services by anyone under 16 is strictly prohibited and in violation of this Agreement. The Services may not be available to any Patrons previously removed from the Services.
ACCESS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES
The Services are intended only for the United States and Canada and may not be appropriate or available for use in some jurisdictions. Any use of the Service is at your own risk, and you must comply with all applicable laws and regulations in using the Services. We may limit the Services’ availability at any time, in whole or in part, to any person, geographic area, or jurisdiction that we choose, in our sole and absolute discretion.
CHANGES
This Agreement may be changed or modified at any time. If any modification is unacceptable to you, you shall cease using the Services. If you do not cease using the Services, you will be conclusively deemed to have accepted the change.
SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION
We may suspend or terminate your use of the Services at any time if, in our sole discretion, your use of the Services is in violation of this Agreement, or if we otherwise reasonably believe that your use of the Services could cause damage to the Services, the rights of other patrons, or any other reason, even if not expressly set forth in this Agreement. Our right to suspend and/or terminate your account does not limit our right or ability to seek any other remedy available to us through this Agreement or at law, including, without limitation seeking monetary damages and/or injunctive relief.
DATA SECURITY
You understand that the technical processing and operation of the Services may involve (i) transmissions over various networks, and (ii) changes to conform and adapt to technical requirements of connection networks or devices. We will maintain commercially reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed for the protection, confidentiality, and integrity of your data. You recognize and agree that transmitting content online involves risks of unauthorized disclosure or exposure and that, in accessing and using the Services, you assume such risks. We offer no representation, warranty, or guarantee that your data will not be exposed or disclosed through errors or the actions or inactions, including negligence, of third parties.
HEALTH & SAFETY terms & waiver
At City Lights, we all work hard to protect the health and safety of our patrons, artists, staff and volunteers.
Our policies align with the CDC and state and local health protocols in place at the time of every performance. Wearing a mask inside the theater is not required except for specific mask-required performances.
Read our full protocols and safety plan. Subject to change.
In addition, when you purchase a ticket to a City Lights event, you acknowledge that you and all members of your accompanying party understand this waiver:
By participating in in-person events and programming, you understand and acknowledge that you are voluntarily seeking and engaging in activities that increase your risk of exposure to COVID-19. Patrons and their families release City Lights Theater Company from any risk or liability associated with COVID-19 exposure and/or infection. You acknowledge that you must comply with all procedures set by City Lights Theater Company to reduce the spread of COVID-19 while within CLTC buildings, property, and/or grounds.
Information & privacy
City Lights strives to protect the privacy of all visitors, in person and online. For visitors to our website, we receive only aggregated information about general activity, such as the times of day when the website receives the most visitors, or which pages are the most commonly viewed. We use aggregated, non-personal data for analysis reasons, including marketing and development. Non-personal data may be disclosed to third parties or used in public records.
Personally identifying data (names, email addresses, credit card numbers, etc.) are much more limited. We see that information only when a website visitor voluntarily submits it, most often while buying a ticket or making a donation. That information makes it easier for our staff to identify you and answer questions, or contact you with City Lights news, promotions or important information about your performance.
Only staff authorized and trained to process payments will be able to see your card details when you purchase tickets over the phone or in person. In addition, City Lights will never trade or sell your email address to another organization or business.
We have partnered with Authorize.Net, a leading payment gateway since 1996, to accept credit card payments safely and securely for our customers. The Authorize.Net Payment Gateway manages the complex routing of sensitive customer information through the electronic check and credit card processing networks.
The company adheres to strict industry standards for payment processing, including 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology for secure Internet Protocol (IP) transactions, and industry-leading encryption hardware and software methods and security protocol to protect customer information.
For more information about the privacy of your sensitive cardholder data, read the Authorize.Net privacy policy.
The City Lights website may provide links to other third-party websites, which operate with their own terms and policies over which we have no control. City Lights is not responsible or liable for the content, security, or other materials on those sites.
By using the City Lights website, you are agreeing to the collection and use of information as detailed above. We’ll update this page if we make changes to our privacy policy.
Unsubscribing & updating
City Lights regularly sends out emails to people who have had contact with the theater and offered their address. Some provide promotional information about upcoming events, special offers, casting and jobs, and other theater news. Other emails give important details about how to use our ticketing system or updates about your performance (for example, there may be temporary road closures in the neighborhood).
All emails contain an “Unsubscribe” option. Or, you can contact us directly at citylights@cltc.org to request that you not receive any emails or phone calls. You can also email us if you need to update your personal information.
If you have provided a phone number, we may call you (infrequently) when we have major news to share about the theater, or are running a fundraising campaign.
Terms & conditions of sale
We understand that plans can change, and sometimes life gets in the way of the best intentions. While all ticket sales are final and we’re not able to offer refunds, we’re here to help if you can’t make your performance. If City Lights must cancel an event and it is not possible to reschedule it, ticket refunds may be issued at the discretion of management.
Did you know that you can convert any unused ticket into a donation? This is a great way to support the theater. Whatever the situation, please contact us at 408-295-4200 or citylights@cltc.org, and we’ll do our best to find a solution that feels right for you.
We cannot permit children under 5 in the theater, and every person (regardless of age) must have a ticket. Due to the intimate size of our theater, we regret that we may not be able to seat latecomers. Casts, schedules, shows and prices are subject to change.
Smoking is not allowed inside the theater or lobby, and cameras and recording devices of any kind are prohibited during events. Please do not bring alcoholic beverages, drugs, or weapons to the theater.
We reserve the right to refuse admission or eject any person whose conduct we or other audience members deem to be disorderly, or any person who does not comply with published terms and conditions.
By using your ticket, you are indicating willingness to appear in photos or videos taken at City Lights Theater, and also releasing CLTC from liability from the use of these materials. Thank you!
