When Jeff read the script about a young Italian-American guy having dinner every Sunday with his grandparents in New Jersey, he knew he had to direct it. “Tengo famiglia!” he might have thought. Because Jeff also grew up having Sunday dinner with his Italian-American grandparents (but in San Francisco).
