Sunday, February 1, 7pm-9pm • Open‑House Style • All to Benefit City Lights
Get ready for an evening that’s equal parts music, mingling and pure City Lights spirit. Drop in anytime for this relaxed, come‑and‑go fundraiser featuring live music from Melodious Thunk, a local cover band playing hits from the ’60s to today. We’ll have appetizer‑style bites, drinks and plenty of good vibes as we gather to support the theater you love. Whether you stay for the whole show or swing by for a quick backstage tour, your presence helps keep the lights shining bright.
Melodious Thunk’s members call themselves “an extended family band.” Some of the musicians are related by blood, while others just love the groove of playing together. Many are also part of other bands, and all are veteran performers, playing everywhere from restaurants and wine bars to street fairs and theater stages.
To name just a few of the connections: Singer / bass player Ruksana Varma and singer / guitarist Rajeev Kelkar are daughter and dad. And drummer Vikram Kalyanaraman and singer Sarita Rao have been playing together for 25 years, starting off in an office band in Bangalore, India. In short, there’s lots of love and joy in the building when Melodious Thunk takes the stage!
The full lineup: Anika Kalyanaraman (vocals), Casper Wong (keyboard), Deepti Kumar (vocals), Rajeev Kelkar (vocals, guitar), Ruksana Varma (vocals, bass), Sarita Rao (vocals) and Vikram Kalyanaraman (drums).
