There have been so many memorable TV shows and movies over the years whose musical themes have been as memorable as the show themselves. And in many cases, they were scored for a jazzy big band.
On Sunday, April 14, at 7 p.m., join Nineteen Jazz Orchestra, San Jose’s professional Big Band, for a musical celebration. They’ll play some of the most loved and identifiable themes ever to have graced television and movie screens in the past. You’ll also enjoy a “name that tune” contest emceed by Mercury News columnist Sal Pizarro! (This event was rescheduled from Feb. 4 after the theater lost power in a storm.)
Led by San Jose native Gus Kambeitz, Nineteen features many local musicians who regularly perform in the jazz scene and pit orchestras around the Bay Area. You’ll love experiencing jazz in our intimate theater.
Nineteen has been performing in the South Bay for more than 20 years, and has hosted many of the world’s greatest jazz artists in feature concerts. The band has also created two original musical theater collaborations with local theaters highlighting historical jazz greats. Learn more about Nineteen.
