Join Nineteen, San Jose’s professional big band, as they treat you to the music of Oliver Nelson, American jazz-saxophonist, clarinetist, arranger, composer, and bandleader. His album The Blues and the Abstract Truth is regarded as one of the most significant recordings of its era. Popular in the ’60s and ’70s, Nelson was one of the first African-American modern composers to write for film and television. Projects include The Six Million Dollar Man and Death of a Gunfighter.

Led by San Jose native Gus Kambeitz, Nineteen features many local musicians who regularly perform in the jazz scene and pit orchestras around the Bay Area. You’ll love experiencing jazz in our intimate theater!

Nineteen has been performing in the South Bay for more than 20 years, and has hosted many of the world’s greatest jazz artists in feature concerts.
