From a streamed one-act during the Covid shutdown to a full-length play premiering on the City Lights stage, Running After Shadows has had a fascinating journey. Join us on Zoom at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, for a free, fun chat with playwright Vincent Terrell Durham, director Aldo Billingslea and actor James Arthur M.

While our theater was closed for a year and a half, Executive Artistic Director Lisa Mallette commissioned new one-act plays from writers in the BIPOC community, to be streamed to our community. That series included Vincent’s poignant, funny solo play 64 Unused Pages. We all fell in love with the play when we watched it on our screens in 2022, and are thrilled that Vincent has expanded it into a full production for its 2026 premiere. (The photo above shows Aldo, Lisa and Vincent. Thanks to Ray Renati for the great shot!)

Hosted by City Lights marketing director Rebecca Wallace, our Zoom chats are part artist interview and part audience talkback…and always informal, friendly and compelling. Sign up by filling out the form below, and we’ll send you the Zoom link.
